Vero is a social application from Vera Labs that market itself as an independent social network. This free social networking platform allows its users to share pictures, videos, and thoughts. It also lets you connect with your friends, acquaintances, and followers.

Feature-wise, Vero does not stray from the formula used by popular social media apps, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.  It does not have annoying features like constant push notifications though. Even better, it has no ads and sponsored content inserted into your feed. Moreover, it has no algorithm that rearranges your posts and limits who sees you.

What makes Vero different?

Like typical social apps, Vero allows you to share posts on its platforms, such as photos, text, music, or TV shows. Like Instagram, it focuses on visuals with big attractive pictures dominating your posts. When you post a recommendation, it will feature an image of the cover. Of course, you can also interact with your connections through your posts. You can also send messages or make video calls.

The app comes with four different categories for each connection you make: close friends, friends, acquaintances, and followers. Every time you publish a post, you can select which groups can see them. Moreover, you can set up three different avatars or profile pictures for the three main categories of connections. With this, you can control how your connections see you.

The app looks like a classier, more intimate, and professional social media. Its interface is a cool mix of black and blues packed with lots of content and navigation shortcuts without the clutter. However, users should know that there are no features, like a digital marketplace, that appeal to noncreators. Moreover, it has a relatively smaller community compared to the most-used platforms today.

Should you switch?

All in all, Vero is a digital space that creators will appreciate. The app makes a strong case for visual quality, making art and entertainment shine in its users' feeds. Even better, it lets you enjoy browsing without bombarding you with ads and sponsored content. That said, the app is still a relatively new platform. Its community will definitely be smaller than its competition.
